The Katadyn Vario Carbon Replacement is a refill for the Katadyn Vario water filter, designed to improve taste and reduce odors by absorbing chemicals, pesticides, and toxins from the water. Each pack typically includes two granular activated carbon refills and replacement foam pads to maintain filtration performance. These replacements should be used when water tastes or smells bad after filtering or after every 6 months of use, whichever comes first.
Function and purpose

When to replace
- When you notice a bad taste or odor in the filtered water.
- Every 6 months, based on usage.
- The capacity of the carbon is approximately 200 liters (50 gallons) but can be reduced by water quality.
