The Katadyn Hiker is a manual, pump-action microfilter designed for backpackers to make backcountry water safe to drink by removing bacteria and protozoa. Its pleated glass-fiber filter physically removes particles, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium, down to 0.3 microns, while an activated carbon core improves the taste by reducing chemicals and pesticides. The system includes a pre-filter to protect the main filter and a universal bottle adapter for filling containers.
