The Katadyn Gravidyn element is a double-stage, replaceable water filter cartridge for use in gravity-fed systems, like the Katadyn Drip filter. It uses a silver-incorporated ceramic filter to remove bacteria, parasites, and sediment, combined with an inner activated carbon core to reduce chlorine and improve taste and odor. The ceramic filter is cleanable, but the activated carbon has a limited lifespan, and replacement is recommended every six months or when the filter's diameter is too large according to the measuring gauge.
